48. Red Steel 2 - Wii, Q1

Guns and swords are a winning combination, but the first Red Steel was a crushing disappointment that failed to deliver on its promises. Happily, it looks like Ubisoft has genuinely turned things around for this sequel, thanks largely to the use of the Wii's MotionPlus tech. The cel-shaded art style looks ace, and the new samurai-cowboy slant is undeniably cool, but it was the revamped controls that really sold us the game at gamescon last year. The movement of your sword isn't 100 per cent synced with the movement of the Remote, but it's damn close - and when the game starts pitting your against several armed goons at once, you feel like you're Uma Thurman in Kill Bill… only with man-boobs.

47. No More Heroes 2 - Wii, Unconfirmed

No More Heroes: "It's good but it's not right". The slash-em-up for cash-em-up was great when you were knocking lumps out of the brilliant bosses, but it felt a bit boring when you were slaving with the side quests (not surprising, really - one of them was mowing the lawn). No More Heroes 2, then, promises to improve matters while retaining the game's quirky sense of humour. What's Grasshopper Manufacture's nut bag head honcho Goichi Suda revealed about the game? There's dual wielding and the side quests will be more varied (thank god!). That's good enough for us, to be honest. Sex-starved hero Travis Touchdown is a legend, and as long as he doesn't stray too far from the sexual innuendo that served him so well in the first game, No More Heroes 2 will be all right. But please: No More Lawn Mowing.

I'm looking forward to the new Alien vs Predator game. A little concerned that it is Rebellion at the helm in developing it though.

For me...

Alan Wake (just to see if they will ever finish and release it).

Also BioShock 2, Dead Rising 2, Dead Space 2, Deus Ex 3, Fable III, Fallout: New Vegas, God of War III, Mass Effect 2, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (will Ubisoft learn like they did with Assassin's Creed?), Splinter Cell: Conviction and Super Mario Galaxy 2.

A lot of sequels in the list, I know. :(

My main ones for this year are Gran Turismo 5 and The Last Guardian, though it hasn't been mentioned if that will make it or not this year.

I will also be buying;
Heavy Rain
Alan Wake(depending on reviews and a demo)
Modnation Racers
MAG(depending on reviews and another go on the beta if possible)
Probably one of the football games
The new F1 game
Crackdown 2(when it's discounted)

So a pretty good year if they all make it. I'll probably pick up more games as the year goes on.

Mass Effect 2
Two Worlds: The Temptation
Final Fantasy XIII
Alpha Protocol
Crackdown 2
Record of Agarest War
Medal of Honor: Beardy Guy

Those are the only games that are tingling my gamey senses at present, and only ME and FF are definites so far. Probably a good thing too, I'm still playing catch up on my older games as far back as 2007.

Love the description for 'Total War: Napoleon'. Made me :D

I only recently picked up 'Empire' in Steam's winter sale and I'm loving every minute of it. So, I'm one of those who can't wait for Napoleon to turn up.

AvP is looking brilliant. Besides looking brilliant comes down to how much fun and the fear it drives into the player when playing as Marine determines it fate with me.

Dante's Inferno is a goooood hack & slasher! Been playing the demo a lil bit and I am impressed by it. This one will sneak up on people on how good it is.
