The planned cut-down version of NBA Jam for PS3 and Xbox 360 - originally to be released as part of the now delayed NBA Elite 11 - is to be packed with as much of the content from the feature rich Wii version as possible, EA Sports has said.

The downloadable versions were to lack the Remix Tour mode found in the Wii edition, but the game's switch to a standalone release could see EA throw the 20-hour campaign mode into the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions too.

Speaking on Toronto sports radio station FAN 590, NBA Jam creative direction Trey Smith revealed that his team was caught off guard by the last minute delay of NBA Elite 11.

"I'll tell you, we're doing everything in our power to get as much on there as possible. I mean, we had online up. It was a really basic online feature set. We're trying to blow that out. And then you get Remix. We're trying to throw it all in there," Smith told FAN 590 (heard by Nintendo World Report).

Whether or not the extra content means we'll see NBA Jam in stores rather than on digital channels remains to be seen. EA's says it should be out this holiday.
