Activision has released a playable demo of its upcoming Guitar Hero compilation, Guitar Hero Greatest Hits. The demo is available now on Xbox LIVE Marketplace to all Gold members.

The demo is just under 500MB and features three songs, one venue, plus the ability to play in single-player or using the band quickplay mode.

Guitar Hero Greatest Hits is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2 on June 19.

I just finished playing this, played Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out and Wolfmother - Woman (Can't remember the third song) and the presenation was nice; although people will still complain about it looking terrible because it's missing film grain...

The note charts were wierd, you can tell it was outsourced, not even to Aspyr who did the PC version of GHIII but to someone else (who have a really awesome intro video for their logo!). It might just be that those two songs are a bit strange - Take Me Out certainly is - but I cant say I enjoyed playing them; this might have been because they were far too easy for my amazing skillz ;p
