Chart Track reports that Wii Fit has made it five consecutive weeks at the top of the UK All Formats All Prices video game chart, fending off competition from Activision's X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Sales of Wii Fit more or less remained flat (up 115 units over last week), but the Wii exclusive managed to outsell the multi-platform Wolverine by 1.7 to 1. Wolverine has to make do with a No.2 chart entry, although with a full week at retail to come, supported by the blockbuster movie, it could see a second week improvement. The game sold 51 per cent on Xbox 360, 39 per cent on PS3, while the remainder was spread around the PS2, PSP, Wii, DS and PSP.

FIFA 09 moves up one place to No.3 thanks to a 28 per cent surge in sales. There's also sales boosts for both Wii Play (+47 per cent) and Mario Kart Wii (+15 per cent) which climb to No.4 and No.6 respectively. Capcom's Resident Evil 5 is also showing strong legs, its No.5 position making it eight consecutive weeks inside the Top 10.

Atari's Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is down 31 per cent to No.7, while EA's The Godfather II slides to No.8 on the back of a 22 per cent sales dip.

Outside the Top 10 there's a big boost for Street Fighter IV (+97 per cent) and Halo Wars (+75 per cent) which climb to No.11 and No.25 respectively.

With very few titles hitting stores this week - none of which look likely to chart highly - expect the current chart elite to battle for the No.1 spot.

I hate the fact that most of the people giving it stick haven't actually played it. Am really glad that the game is getting love by the crew at VG. Seb and Tom both approve. :) Also the forum members who own or rented the game are loving the game dispite its rare glitchy nature.

Honestly agree with you Kalius - The game is great fun! not the deepest game by any means - but it does what it says on the tin very well and very similar in vein to God of War, Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden - it just seems to be getting more stick than any of these titles for some reason.

It has some flaws, but the fact that it is still a great fun playable game dispite these flaws definatley proves that what it does it does very well. (resists the urge to use 'I'm the best at white I do...' quote!)

CorruptOKilla you say this yet obviously have not played the game so where are you casting your views from. Oh yes their not your views but a recycling of other peoples.

You cannot but Wolverine for under £37 on a next gen console with most games under it being heavily discounted so your budget comment is ridicolous. I for one love the game. And i know i'm not alone theres much love for a game that potrays wolverine in the sense that we all wanted. It's not the most complete game on the market but it certainly is a great hack and slash.
