400,000 Wiis for Japanese launch

Nintendo has announced that it will be shipping 400,000 Wii consoles for its launch in Japan.
Just because Sony didn't support the PS3's launch with adequate stock, it doesn't mean Nintendo will follow suit. The platform holder has today announced that it will be supplying 400,000 Wii consoles for the system's launch in Japan - that's over 300,00 more units than Sony managed with the PS3.
The Wii goes on sale in Japan on December 2, a few weeks following the console's debut in North America, where the bulk of the launch Wii stock is to be sent. Nintendo is expecting to ship four million units by the year end, but stock allocation has not been announced for territories outside of Japan.
The Wii goes on sale in North America on November 19, followed in Japan on December 2, and in the UK on December 8.
