Equilibrio Features

For:Wii Release Date: 9 April 2009

Who comes out on top in this week's DLC round-up?

The console war is fought everywhere these days, but the internet seems to be where people are most vocal. It also serves to give each console its own set of downloadable content, fuelling the war even more. Each week we'll give you a run-down of what's available to download on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, and declare a winner.

Note: This round-up is based on UK releases to each console's online service and does not include premium video content. Releases outside of the UK could vary.

PlayStation 3 - PSN

It's a decent week for PS3 owners looking for downloadable content, with four full games, a retail game demo and add-ons for a number of games. Pick of the week is the demo for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, although PSN games FLOCK!, Rag Doll Kung Fu Fists Of Plastic and Worms are all worth a look. We'd recommend Worms over the other two as you can't go wrong with its classic gameplay, but FLOCK! And Rag Doll Kung Fu have the edge if you can't stand retro games.

On the add-on front Resident Evil 5 received the Versus pack, adding some decent multiplayer modes that suffer from a restrictive control system, there's a new map pack for Quantum of Solace and costumes for LittleBigPlanet. There's also the usual selection of new tracks for Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band, and there's a special PSN Store anniversary sale running until April 23.

yeh, clearly the PSN must do more than release games, videos, demos, and price reductions. Even if it is only to beat Halo 3 DLC :( Tis sad, but hey, Killzone 2 DLC soon, so I hope Xbox 360 is ready

are you kidding me, just because of halo 3 map pack! BAH now that is a poor excuse. you should base this on the amount new downloads available for each service, otherwise it would seem extremely biased

*COUGH 360 has far better add-on content, with the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack COUGH*

enough said. and not sure if people already know this but in japan you can download Final Fantasy 7 from the PSN store for both PSP and PS3
