Thinks it's found the market, but doesn't know until it tries.

SEGA's taken a shot at appealing to the mature gamer on Wii with its double header of House of the Dead: Overkill and Madworld, but while both titles earned solid review scores, neither managed to gain much in the way of commercial success.

It's a worrying situation, that's made some believe that there simply isn't a place on the Wii for mature titles.

EA's not sure either, but EA Games label president Frank Gibeau has revealed the publisher is willing to take a gamble with Wii exclusive, sci-fi horror Dead Space: Extraction.

"Well, there has been some M-rated high-quality games released recently on Wii that we've taken note of, and that's why I think Dead Space: Extraction is a gamble," he told Gamasutra. "It's a calculated risk. Can a high-quality experience like that that appeals to a more mature audience work on the Wii platform?"

"... we think we've found a market on the Wii that would be interested in the Dead Space: Extraction experiment. We're going to take a gamble and build that market. You know, until you try, you don't really know if the hypothesis is correct or not."

Dead Space: Extraction is scheduled for release only on Wii this autumn.

Stupid companies this is one of my favorite games for the xbox and they ruin a good game with the stupid wii. It will be some slow walking through the levels game. I'm so mad I wanted it for xbox just like the old game...I hope it has an epic fail.

It would epically fail!!! You don't understand... Dead Space is a really good Horror story which originated on the powerhouse next gen systems.. Why would you bring it to the wii in the first place?? Madworld and house of the dead were clear examples how M rated games don't sell good on Wii. If Conduit sells under 100 or lets just say they only sell under 200,000 thats very poor given the Wii install base US, and globally.. Shoulda make Dead Space extraction for the psp. it will sell m0re on the portable than on the Wii.
