EA's Dead Space: Extraction has failed to make the UK video game chart Top 40 in its first week on release, according to ChartTrack.

Looking at the Wii-only chart the game could only manage 16th place, once again fuelling discussion that adult-oriented mature games simply don't sell on Nintendo's console.

Dead Space: Extraction is an on-rails prequel to Visceral Games' impressive new horror IP Dead Space, released in October 2008 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

I'll give it a download as soon as possible.

This is why it's so low in the sales chart.

Dead Space on the nintendo platform should have proved successful? Shouldn't it? I mean i personally would love to play a horror game using the wii remote, creates more of an intense interactive game. I think its a shame a great game like Dead Space which was the first space horror game to be unsuccessful, well on this platform anyway.

I would actually buy a wii for this game, but i bet Sony will make a patch for the motion control use for this game.

To be honest. The Wii is a difficult platform to pitch a game such as Dead Space's calibur. Dead Space on the 360 & PS3 has a huge following, and I expected Dead Space to do well on the Wii as well, however....

Its the target audience of the machine rather than the game itself. The Wii is usually owned by families, so games such as Dead Space, House Of The Dead, Dead Rising and Resident Evil won't even get touched by the hands of these families.

Tis a shame nonetheless.

Expect the old 'Okami and Zack & Wiki didn't sell' argument to spread across Internet forums everywhere now.

I've barely seen it advertised (aside from on this site) nor have I heard that much build up to it. I'll give it a download as soon as possible.

Well the 360 game is good and I would assume this was done by the same team.

I suspect the majority of Wii owners are either younger than 16 (playing mario and sonic at the olympics) or older than 35 (playing WiiFit exclusively). The exact wrong demographic for a core game like this :-( big shame as it deserved to chart.

Its a great game and offers lots of replay value

I urge every Wii owner over 18 to buy this game now!

I'm quite suprised at that, its a big game and there have been adverts on this site for it.
Probs because the Wii is mainly considered a family console and younger than 18.
