EA CEO John Riccitiello has revealed that the video games giant is still struggling to compete with Nintendo's dominance on the Wii, claiming sales of Nintendo software accounts for two-thirds of the console's total software sales.

"For those of us making console games, that's a challenge that we certainly have to contend with," said Riccitiello during today's investor call.

There have been some EA successes on Wii, notably Boom Blox and MySims, but Riccitiello added: "There's no question that having the lead platform be a platform with two thirds of the unit sales occurring to the first-party owner is a really unusual thing. We haven't seen that since prior to the [original] PlayStation."

He concluded that EA's "home territory" remains the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and noted "we've got work to do on the Wii".

Make some good Wii games EA and I'll buy them. Boom Blox was good (but awful art and cheap presentation)..but that's about the only decent title you have made for the system. There's a reason why Nintendo games are selling best..they are one of the few companies making decent games AND marketing them heavily.
