It should then ask you if you want to go to the city, and yes, some items are quite expensive, but you can get 1 free souvinere a day from the man with the small stall next to the fountain, get your fortune told for 100 bells, or join Redds (though I don't reccomend it, as he sells fake paintings and over priced goods!)
