You're sort of right bev, the game was run on a computer but Kojima said that it was a similar spec to the PS3.

As for your cutscenes bev, maybe this one will be the MGS for you, it sounds much more open world with fly able helicopters/drivable tanks. It would be some weird sandbox game if it had the typical MGS cutscenes.

I thought the lighting effects looked brilliant and considering we are watching it and it was raining with Solid Snake and the camera moving, the wet floor didn't look off like a lot of games I play this gen when the camera moves.
No idea how it plays and I find most Metal Gear games rather boring as the cut scenes go overboard, I thought from a technical POV it was brilliant.

I still can't believe what we saw was current gen!!!

...But I have a gut feeling what we saw was PC version.

I think I had a small death on reading this news yesterday.

*ehem* who started that thread a little while ago about the one game that you really can't wait for and you have to know EVERYTHING about? Was it FM? Anyway, this is my holy grail of games at the moment.

Words seem to fail me..

The actual imagery reminded me of the problem the XBox 360 had early on with ice environments, the ice always had this sheen or 'coating' that made it look distinctly unreal or plasticy, a good example would be the icy environments in Enchanted Arms.

In the MGS demo it was particularly noticeable on the stones/cliff-face towards the end, just didn't look quite right. I guess it's a case of uncanny valley, it's definitely the most advanced graphics I've seen.

The video is 10:55 long, the gameplay lasts for 46 seconds. It's definitive Metal Gear in other words.
