Yeah I understood that part but why does this have any influence over the score vg having given the game?

I could name a few examples, but Resident Evil is no longer a survival horror, Splinter Cell is no longer stealth, etc. Sure new people enjoy these games, but previously existing fans of the series' seem to agree with me.

What's next? Guns and werewolves in Sonic?

I don't think so.

I tried Red Dead Revolver after finding out from Lee that it's the first game in the Red Dead series plus Halo 4 which came out just a few weeks ago is the best of the whole series.
The new one is far better as well as new franchises like Bioshock and arcade gems which never would have been made in the "old days" to a mass audiance like Super Meat Boy and Limbo etc being added.

Every franchise seems to have been getting killed off one by one for years; it doesn't even surprise me any more. Gotta love the Call of Duty/Michael Bay era we're living in. :D

Square-Enix > Lauren > ??? > Area-51 > Traffic Lights > Farmer Giles > Barcodes > Schilling > ASDA > Hitman: Absolution Review on Videogamer.com gets a 5.

Or the short version: the review score of '5' looks suspicously like the 'S' in Square-Enix.

Isn't it obvious? As a poster I just skipped most of it, as a moderator I was itching to delete most of it.

Lauren used to work for Square Enix, and wrote a glowing preview for (copied the press release and pasted it into) MCV. It seems that some people prefer their games writers to be fluffers instead of critics.

Excuse me for being rather dumb here but why does one vg review of hitman have anything to do with the *****storm of the past month or so involving Lauren or anybody else?

Waste of content? Should modern game design assume everyone knows how to play the game from the off? Perhaps the option to skip the tutorial is a better option than ditching it all together.

I hate tutorials, a waste of content, why does modern game design assume everyone is a dick.

A play through as a huge idiot reveals little to get annoyed about, looks purdy, everything is slick, bad guy asset reuse is hardly a huge minus.

Stick this saints crap where the sun shines Neon, along with Mario volume 37 with yet more gold coins, and the ad infinitum game design choices that avoid fine tooth comb that Agent 47 copped.

Not keen on this baldie, Morrisey with no hair, pretentious dick vibes.

Job done here, give my member of the month prize to charidee.

Google, Neon, we the illiterate seem reasonably adept at it - a healthy thread on GAF... provides chortles a plenty, you don't have to look very far for bull***** surrounding this game. If only farmer Giles had a cloud based spreader, spuds would be ripe.

Actually that's not entirely true...
