Back to game info

Welcome to Heads-up, our weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Monday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to smash open your piggy bank so you can spend its coin-shaped guts.

Worth a look

It's a busy release week, but we might miss out on a true great. Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Dragon's Dogma, and DiRT Showdown are the most likely to be essential purchases, but wait for our reviews for the final verdicts.

Also potentially worth a look are 3DS arcade sports title Mario Tennis, PS Move wizardry adventure Sorcery, and Doctor Who tie-in The Eternity Clock. We're not expecting huge surprises from those three, but we're not ready to write them off just yet.

And the rest...

  • Iron Front: Liberation 1944 - PC
  • Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice Of Arland - PS3
  • Men In Black: Alien Crisis - Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii
  • Rune Factory Oceans - PS3
  • Legends Of Pegasus - PC
  • Panzer Corps - PC

I actually really enjoyed the demo. I reckon it will be good fun. I'm just not as excited for it as I could be.

I've got my preo-order Dragon's Dogma to look forward to (thank VG for the Zavvi voucher). I might actually give Dirt Showdown a few goes to when I get my free copy. A month of of uber gaming discounts, yay.

Dirt Showdown is quite appealing to me, but then I love demolition derby style games.

Looking forward to trying out Dragons Dogma, but it is Ghost Recon that I am most excited about - I just really hope it doesn't dissapoint after all these years waiting!

EDIT - and my son is well excited for Doctor Who!!!!

Do you know what the selected games are? or is there a similar offer for Max Payne?
I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment, i gotta save the pennies for my holiday to Kos next month and i could do with a new title to fill the gap as i'm board with my current backlog. Max Payne 3 or Dirt Showdown would do nicely.

Nothing really for me until the new Spiderman game and Risen 2... :-/

A bit of time to broach the backlog!

You can get either Ghost Recon or DiRT Showdown for 99p at GAME if you trade in two selected games. I may just do that to free up some space on my shelf, HDD and to get rid of old games which aren't getting played.

Dragon's Dogma is day one believe it or not me!

I'm really looking forward to playing the new Ghost Recon game. So, thats on my list.

And I think this might be the first time ever that I'm not really bothered about a Codemasters racing release :\ I'd like to play it. But, I can wait.
