Pro Evolution Soccer 6 nets a million

Konami expects huge improvements for Pro Evolution Soccer 7 and sales to top that of Pro Evolution Soccer 6.

Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 6 has surpassed UK sales of one million units, reaching the milestone nine weeks quicker than Pro Evolution Soccer 5. PES6 marked the series' first appearance on Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS and PES7 will add the PlayStation 3 to the growing list of release platforms.

"We are committed to bringing Pro Evolution Soccer to as many sectors as possible," said Konami UK's general manager Pete Stone. "PES7 will mark the game's first appearance on PS3, and will see massively improved versions for the Xbox 360, PSP, PS2, PC and DS. We are certainly expecting to surpass sales of PES6 with the next version."

Pro Evolution Soccer 7 is expected to arrive on PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, DS and PC in October.
