Criterion is developing next NFS
News
Set for release in 2010.
EA Games Label president Frank Gibeau has confirmed that Burnout developer Criterion is the studio behind the next instalment in the Need for Speed franchise.
Speaking during an overnight conference call, Gibeau said: "Next year's Need for Speed has been under development now for some time at our award-winning Criterion Studio."
Gibeau is reported to have confirmed the game for release in 2010, presumably in the autumn.
This year's Need for Speed Shift saw the franchise take a dramatic turn towards a simulation experience, so it's safe to assume Criterion's effort will be anything but.
