Rockstar is proud of Manhunt 2
Under fire publisher also thanks those who continue to offer their support for the controversial title.
Rockstar Games has sent out an email to its supporters, thanking them for their continued support and also took the opportunity to offer some thoughts on the Manhunt 2 ban.
"We wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to contact us about Manhunt 2," said an email sent out by Rockstar. "We are very proud of Manhunt 2 and believe it builds on what the team accomplished with the first title in the series. The game was developed as a horror experience, and to be an M rated title, aligning it with similar horror content created in other forms of media."
The email goes on to say: "Unlike many other people, we do not think videogames should be singled out for special treatment from the authorities. We hope to have more information for you soon, but in the meantime, we wanted you to know how much we value all of your messages of support."
Manhunt 2 had been scheduled for release on Wii, PS2 and PSP in July, but the BBFC's refusal to rate the game has resulted in the title being banned from release. It's a similar story in the US where the ESRB's Adults Only rating has prevented the game from being released on the Wii and Sony's platforms.

Similarly, the personal representative of Jeffrey Dahmer's estate wishes to express his gratitude to all of the fans of cannibalism and torture for their support of Mr. Dahmer's Manhunt 2-like life.
Also, Charles Manson wishes to thank all of his fans for their support of his murders, rapes, tortures, and Satan-worship. He wants all of you to know that when he gets out he'll be delighted to take over as Take-Two's next chairman.
Adolf Hitler would likewise like to express his appreciation to his legions of fans, which include gamers Klebold and Harris, for their enthusiasm not only for him and his sadomasochism but also, of course, for the celebration of sadomasochism in Strauss Zelnick's "fine art," Manhunt 2.
And last but not least, Satan would like to express his deepest thanks for the support of all he is trying to accomplish that has unrelentingly come from Sam Houser and all the other sociopaths who work so hard at Take-Two and Rockstar to sell perversion, pornography, violence, and hate to children around the globe, all for the mighty dollar.
Can Satan get an Amen to Rockstar? Amen!
