DiRT 2 out September 11

Coming to Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS and PSP - PC version to follow.

Codemasters has announced that Colin McRae: DiRT 2 will be released in the UK on September 11, 2009. The game will be shipping on September 8 in North America.

DiRT 2 promises to take racing games to a new level with new race types, locations, a big event atmosphere and a line-up of super-charged speed machines.

Embarking on a world tour, players will be able to compete in over 100 events, including aggressive, multi-vehicle races and intense solo challenges, set in diverse and demanding real-world environments. From the muddy tracks of the Malaysian rainforest to spectator-packed stadiums in London and Los Angeles, racers will compete in off-road race disciplines covering Rallycross, Trailblazer, Raid, Landrush, and Rally.

The game will also feature a line-up of the best new rally drivers, including the multi medal-winning Subaru Rally Team USA driver Ken Block alongside Travis Pastrana, Dave Mirra and Tanner Faust.

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 will be released for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS and PSP on September 11. A PC version, complete with support for DirectX 11 will follow later in the year.
