Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag are both being developed for Microsoft’s unannounced next-gen Xbox, a pair of Ubisoft employees appear to have confirmed.

The games are listed on the LinkedIn profiles of Ubisoft gameplay programmer Paolo Maninetti and marketing artist Phil Brolles, who state between them that both games are headed to “X720”.

Brolles’ profile states that Watch Dogs is “work in progress for next generation consoles”, specifically referencing “PS4/X720”, while Maninetti says that AC4 is heading to “PC, PS3, X360, PS4, X720, [and] WiiU”.

The news that Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed 4 are heading to Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox isn’t exactly a surprise – Ubisoft has previously announced that the two games are headed to “next-generation platforms”, including PlayStation 4.

But given Microsoft’s secrecy over its next-generation console, it’s surprising to see two Ubisoft employees listing the console on their online CVs.

The news follows a similar blunder from Microsoft employee Eusebius Lai earlier this week, who posted on his LinkedIn that he was working on “cool new features” for the “next Xbox”.

Depending on who you believe, Microsoft is expected to announce its next-gen Xbox at the end of il_26_says_source.html”>this month or next.

Ubisoft gave VideoGamer.com a “no comment” when contacted this afternoon.
