A brand new trailer for Variable State’s Virginia has been released ahead of the game’s September 22 launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Virginia is an interactive mystery thriller about the disappearance of a young boy. Directed by Jonathan Burroughs and Terry Kenny, the story unfolds through the eyes of the protagonist, graduate FBI agent Anne Tarver.

“Virginia is a reflection of the diverse art that has inspired me, ranging from the timeless animation of Glen Keane to the enigmatic storytelling of David Lynch. It’s a sumptuous animated drama, with a technological twist. And it challenges storytelling conventions by granting the viewer direct control over the story,” said Burroughs.

He added: “It would be a delight for Virginia to be mentioned in the same breath as genre greats like Twin Peaks and the recent Stranger Things. We hope viewers find it to be a captivating story that, through technology, is original in both the tale and the telling.”
