Crystal Dynamics has no plans to update the PC version of Tomb Raider with the new features included in the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One release.
In an update on an official FAQ, an Eidos Admin said that "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition was designed and rebuilt from the ground up for next-generation consoles. At this time a PC update is not planned."
Some online commenters had speculated that Square Enix may release an update to the PC version at a low price point, similar to the approach it took with the Deus Ex: Director's Cut content.
As well as featuring enhanced visuals over the previous console release, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition includes a new Lara model, improved shaders, textures and lighting, and an enhanced world featuring improved "weather and lighting effects, extra vegetation, improved physics, reactive water surfaces, and more...
"We didn't just improve the rain," the developer said, "we reworked it until it felt torrential – like another enemy out to get Lara."
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition launches on PS4 and Xbox One on January 31.
