UPDATE: Ubisoft has confirmed that The Division has been delayed to 2015.
“Working on The Division is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us at Massive, Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment,” said Ubisoft. “We are creating something we are really proud of and we don’t want to compromise on quality. We are going to release the game when it’s ready.
“We want to thank you again for the exceptional ongoing support. Community is at the heart of what we are doing and we’re very much designing the game with you in mind, so your involvement means a lot to us.
“The production is getting stronger every day and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to at this year’s E3.”
ORIGINAL REPORT: The Division looks increasingly likely to have been delayed after Ubisoft failed to include the upcoming shooter as part of its major FY15 line-up as part of today’s earnings presentation.
“The year’s performance will be led by five games – Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, Just Dance, The Crew and Watch Dogs,” commented CEO Yves Guillemot. “Watch Dogs’ pre-orders are at record levels and it is perfectly positioned to become the industry’s most successful new IP in history.”
Rumours of The Division’s delay first emerged in January after an alleged Ubisoft Massive source said that “actual game development [had] barely started”.
If true, it would mean that The Division won’t launch until at least April 2015. Officially, the game is still due to launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC later this year.
