Batman: Arkham Knight has shot to the top of the All Formats UK Video Game Chart, easily outpacing competition from Warner’s own LEGO Jurassic World which drops to No.2.
Arkham Knight becomes the week one best-seller for the franchise – previously held by 2011’s Arkham City – and also this year’s best week one seller, easily overtaking The Witcher 3.
A huge 67 per cent of sales came on PS4, with 33 per cent on Xbox One.
Warner Bros. has now secured four No.1 games in the first half of 2015, becoming the first publisher to manage four or more since EA managed it in 2012 with FIFA 12, Kingdoms of Amalur, SSX, Mass Effect 3 and FIFA Street. Warner’s other No.1 games include Dying Light, Mortal Kombat X and LEGO Jurassic World.
Elsewhere Yoshi’s Woolly World is new at No.4, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is in at No.10, MotoGP 15 takes 13th place and J-Stars Victory VS+ sneaks inside the Top 20 at No.18.
