Resident Evil 7 will not feature any microtransactions, Capcom has confirmed to VideoGamer.
The publisher moved to allay fears after the game’s pre-order bonuses were revealed yesterday, leading to concerns from fans that Capcom may be looking to include microtransactions in the final game. But that isn’t the case, a Capcom representative told me earlier today.
“Whilst there will be pre-order bonus items and DLC available to purchase for Resident Evil 7, there will not be any micro-transactions in the game,” the representative said.
Resident Evil 7’s pre-order bonuses include a variety of ‘Survival Packs’, each featuring a set of items designed to help players survive the game’s mansion, including handgun ammo and herbs. There also appear to be a set of coins available, although it isn’t yet clear how these tie into the game.
Resident Evil 7 launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 24, 2017.
