PlanetSide 2, the free-to-play online shooter, launched for PS4 yesterday following an lengthy beta, but things haven’t gone to plan in Europe.

Servers were taken offline only hours after launch because of an “issue with in-game and PSN Store purchases”.

US game servers were reinstated in the early hours of the morning but there appears to be problems getting the European game up and running again.

Developer Daybreak had said the European servers would return in “just a few minutes”, but that was over nine hours ago.

A later tweet from Andy Sites, directer of development at Daybreak, confirmed there was an issue.

“The #ps2onps4 dev and operations teams are still here and working to resolve it. We don’t plan on leaving until it’s fixed,” he said.

At 9.47am GMT Sites confirmed the team was “still working” on the EU servers, whilst the PlanetSide 2 Twitter account wrote: “We are continuing to work on an issue with the EU servers. We really appreciate everyone’s patience.”

Hopefully EU gamers will be playing soon.
