The final version of Star Wars Battlefront runs at 900p on PS4 and 720p on Xbox One, exactly the same as the game’s beta, Gaming Bolt reports.

The game targets – and for the most part successfully achieves – 60fps on both platforms.

The Xbox One version is reported to perform “slightly better” overall, however, with PS4 allegedly suffering from a “slightly inferior FPS performance at times”. Walker Assault mode is said to put the biggest strain on the game.

Split-screen meanwhile, is capped at 30fps, but can drop “into the upper 20s” at times. It does, however, boost the resolution to 1080p on both PS4 and Xbox One, Gaming Bolt says, “offering each player a 1920×540 view of the game”.

Star Wars Battlefront runs on the latest version of Frostbite, the same engine used for EA’s previous shooters Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline, and which also run at the same resolutions as Battlefront.

Whichever platform you play it on, though, Battlefront “heralds a significant benchmark for visuals”, Gaming Bolt concludes, thanks to the “sheer amount of post processing effects”.

Star Wars Battlefront launches at midnight tonight on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
