Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes News for PS4

On: PS4Xbox OneXbox 360PS3PC

Konami has released a 3 minute comparison video of all four versions of next month's stealth game Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes.

The video, which you can see above, highlights the differences between the current and next-gen versions of the game, and offers the first footage of the game running on Xbox 360 and PS3.

It also demonstrates the difference in native resolution between the Xbox One and PS4 versions, with the game running at 720p on Xbox One and 1080p on PS4.

Something you won't be able to spot in the video above, however, is the frame rate differences between 360/PS3 and XB1/PS4. For that, you'll have to check out GameTrailers' version of the video. As revealed earlier in the month, Ground Zeroes runs at 60fps on next-gen consoles and 30fps on current-gen.

Furthermore, the video provides the first look at the PS4 version's "atmosphere simulation", an exclusive feature that – we assume - simulates sky and cloud patterns in real time rather than use a skybox.

More details on Ground Zeroes are expected to be revealed later this month before the game hits on March 21.

I will say this though, after playing MGSV: GZ on PS3, the draw distance is shocking! The grass grows as you walk towards it, and it doesn't animate until you get even closer. You crawl towards a gap only to find that there's debris blocking your path that wasn't there a moment ago! However, like @peterdavid12345 says, I'm in it for the story.

For games that aspire to be photo-realistic like this visual fidelity is a pretty big deal for me. It would be nice if it didn't bother me but is simply does, perhaps more so than some due to how close I sit to the screen. Regardless, I find now that games on last gen systems just feel slightly broken and just make me wish that it was available on a more powerful system, even GTA V, as well made as that was had a fair few moments where you spot blurry textures, jaggy edges or some other issue that could be avoided.

I'm a PC gamer and I'm gonna get this for the PS4 but seriously, who give a damn about if the game have better graphics or better resolution. To me, I can't spot any different other than the sky, What I love about the MGS franchise is not about the graphics I love it because of the story and the brilliant stealth gameplay that they put into it + the pervert and funny moment too XD. Stop the consoles war and PC master race already and just enjoyed the damn game will ya ?

While that being said, I still think that M$ should get rid of Kinect or atleast bundled like the PS4, it's overpriced, barely anyone want to used and it slowed the Xbox perfomanced down. But most important of all, WHERE IS THE LOVE FOR WII U ??? No wii u Version ? Konami is consolist ! lol.

YouTube compression kills the framerate to 30 fps.

Here's a direct link. It can be downloaded. http://trailers-ak.gametrailers.com/...son_10kbps.mp4

Ps4 and Xbone are missing puddles on the ground still. If you look at the original reveal trailer, there was a puddle layer over the ground and objects which made it look like the raindrops were splashing in it. It still appears to be missing here. I wonder if it was too much of a constraint or kojima just decided not to implement it. Either way I believe it looked much better. This version looks bare compared to it.

Try reading the article?

Not sure how useful this video is at this size/resolution, levels the playing field somewhat for the last gen platforms. From the HD gameplay vids already released, this is shaping up to be one of the most graphically-realistic game ever made, so baffled as to how anyone can say it doesn't look 'next gen'.
