Konami has announced a new expansion pack for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain's multiplayer mode Metal Gear Online.
Due to arrive on all platforms in March, the 'Cloaked in Silence' pack will introduce three new multiplayer maps, including Coral Complex, Rust Palace and Azure Mountain, and playable character Quiet, who is able to "temporarily cloak her visibility while sprinting to activate a boost in movement speed".
- Coral Complex: A dedicated Motherbase environment, allowing players to access tall towers and use storage containers and other internal areas as cover for tactical advantage. Coral Complex mixes open areas and a myriad of hiding opportunities.
- Rust Palace: Set within Afghanistan, the Rust Palace is a large multi-level building. The skeletal nature of the decrepit ruin means that cover is scarce, while the internal areas are rich in dusty rooms and high-up sniping positions.
- Azure Mountain: An outdoor plain under Africa’s baking sky. A small cluster of buildings offers scant cover, with only derelict walls and occasional scrubland surrounding the massive rock known locally as the Cradle of Spirits.
The DLC will also introduce a new 'Appeal Action' feature that allows players to pull off unique poses. Konami says that five different pose slots can be applied to each character, with additional Appeal Action packs available separately. The first packs will include a 'Basic Appeal Pack', 'Battle Appeal Pack', 'Dance Appeal Pack' and 'Hero Appeal Pack'.
Meanwhile, a free update arriving alongside the DLC will introduce a new 'Sabotage' game type that sees players having to destroy or fulton an enemy missile before the time runs out.
The Cloaked in Silence pack will cost 3.99 Euros when it goes on sale at some point next month, with additional Appeal Packs costing 1.99 Euros each. UK pricing has yet to be confirmed.
