Sony has released a new trailer promoting the benefits of taking out a PlayStation Plus subscription.

The trailer highlights that you'll need a sub in order to play the majority of PS4 games online – besides F2P titles.

Driveclub PS Plus Edition is also pushed quite heavily, though the game's delay means members will have to wait until 2014 to get their hands on the racer. Analysis

We wonder how many new PS4 gamers will go to play Killzone or Battlefield online, unaware that they need to have a PS Plus subscription. The premium service has proven to be great value for money on PS3 and PS Vita, but may take time to offer the same worth for PS4 gamers.

Are the PS3 offerings each month also be accesible using the steaming thingy? (technical terminology eh!)

Every PS4 comes with a free 14-day PS Plus trial.

Indeed. I only own a Vita at the moment and it's well worth the money for that over the past 6 months

And if you own a Vita as well it's even better value. And if you own a PS3 too it's even better-er value!

This is the ad from their launch speech, prior to driveclub and Watchdogs delays. That was a few months ago now. Have they only just launched this separately or is this just floating around the internet?

Yes, PS4s should come with a trial sub (guessing 90 days) which will help.

If you're dropping £350 on a PS4 and don't realise that you need to spend £39.99 a year to access online multiplayer then... well... what can I say?

I think it will offer value for money on PS4 straight away? One PS4 game a month for 12 months will easily be more than the £39.99 a year you'll pay.

Don't all playstation 4's come with a few days trial worth of PS+? Even if people do go try out BF4 or Killzone online they'll likely be told they need a PS+ subscription but luckily they'll have a trial code anyway.

PS+ is a great service that I'm happy to pay for. It's my primary source of games for my Vita. I've gotten to try a lot of games out that I otherwise would have never even looked at because of it.
