Just Cause 3’s first DLC expansion pack ‘Sky Fortress’ is to launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC in March, Square Enix has announced.

Available for £9.49 or included as part of the Air, Land & Sea Expansion Pass, Sky Fortress introduces a new flying fortress location that offers 3-4 hours of additional gameplay, plus a brand new “fully armed” Bavarium Wingsuit equipped with rockets and a shoulder-mounted machine gun.

It also includes a new ‘Bavarium Splitter’ assault rifle and an ‘Eviction’ personal defence drone used to fend off enemy attacks. You don’t just get to use the items in the DLC missions, either, with all of the additional items available to be taken back into the main game and used to cause havoc across the rest of Medici.

“If Just Cause 3 is over-the-top action then the Air, Land and Sea Expansion pass aims to stand on its shoulders and reach even higher,” said Avalanche Studio’s senior producer Tobias Andersson. “An incredible amount of time has been spent ensuring every new item is fully integrated into the main game and can be used during existing missions. Rico’s new Bavarium Wingsuit will fundamentally alter the core gameplay of Just Cause 3 and we can’t wait to see the crazy stunts that players perform with it.”

As well as Sky Fortress, Square also has plans to roll out two other expansion packs before summer 2016. The second, titled ‘Land Mech Assault’, will introduce a heavily armoured mech armed with a gravity gun that allows players to pick up objects and throw them in any direction. “Although the mech is as strong as a tank, it is highly manoeuvrable and agile and behaves unlike anything else in the game,” says Square. You can see an early concept of what it looks like below.

The third expansion, meanwhile, is called the ‘Bavarium Sea Heist’, although details on what it includes have yet to be revealed. Expansion Pass owners will get one week’s exclusive early access to all three DLCs before they become available to other players.
