UPDATE: Woah, what happened here? SCEE has contacted to request that we remove the original story regarding InFamous: Second Son's free Paper Trail missions.

But as you can see from the screen above, InFamous: Second Son's day one patch does include free bonus Paper Trail missions, Cole's Legacy pre-order missions and content, along with "other bug fixes".

So, there you go.

New stuff to check out

That's probably not true - why would Suckerpunch withhold content that could result in a higher review score prior to launch?

reviewer had the day 1 patch a week ealier, for the "fine tuning" of the gameplay and bosses.. (and 1 extra mission),

but they still didnt get about 5h of content, because the servers were not up yet for all the content.., in otherwords the game is about 50% longer/lager, than what the reviewers tested.. (the game might have gotten a higher metascore..)

I see your point and while it's not DRM it certainly means to get the most out of the game you have to be online.

No-one requires you to do anything. It's extra content. If the game didn't work without it then it might be just about argued that it was DRM.

No it's also to check if a game is a legitimate copy. Requiring you go online to download 'day one DLC' when that DLC seems to form a significant chunk of the game feels like disguised DRM to me.

Sure thing, boss. I applaud your optimism but I don't buy it lol.

Do you not see more Day One DLC coming out for games these days that actually seem to be like.... significant chunks of the game. It's almost like they want you to... check in... on the internet before letting you get the 'full' experience.

DRM is Digital Rights Management to prevent a game (or other media) being copied or reused illegally. It's things like a single use code to access a game.

So, no, this is in no way DRM.

With this is mind does it change your feeling on the game *talking to reviewer* or was this information (I imagine it was ) considered in your review.

We actually had the "day one" patch a week ago :)

"Man, f*ck Suckerpunch, I knew they'd put out day one DLC like every other soulless company. I bet its only like an hour and costs like 15 f*cking bucks...

...What? It's free?
...It's hours long?

@alphafour the reason they didn't put it in the game on the disc is because it was likely made after the disc went gold back in February. That allowed them to start "printing" the copies of the game and let the devs continue to work on adding in these extra missions and tweaks without effecting the release date.

This has nothing to do with DRM.

Well, this is definitely the strangest news I've heard all day.

***** day 1 DLC? Well, maybe not this time...

cool..., MS would have charged you for this..

nice work Sony..., so now all the scores so far are unreliable, since the game will be even better??

What have Patches/Updates/Day One DLC to do with DRM?

I thought they said no DRM... this sounds a lot like DRM...

Day One DLC? Why can't they just put it in the game?! 19 missions?!

I told you so.
