One of the more interesting exclusive announcements during Sony's press conference was that Far Cry 4 players on PS4 and PS3 will be able to invite their friends to play with them, even if they don't own the game.

PlayStation gamers will receive a set of "Keys to Kyrat," which open up the entire game world of Kyrat to any of their PSN friends, even if they don’t yet have a copy of the game.

Ubisoft and Sony are able to offer this functionality via a pretty sizeable download for those who don't own the game – essentially installing the entire game world on their console, but with all the story missions removed. It's a lot like 3DS download play, but with a heftier client download.

I disagree. I would say the overall experience is what made the game for me, and if I had to pick one over the other it would be the story. Now don't get me wrong, the gameplay and the world in Far Cry 3 is fantastic, both of which made me come to love the game btw, but I find more enjoyment in games that have a decent story over games that have decent gameplay. Ideally I would want both of course, but that isn't usually the way things happen. I'm the type of person that would play a game even if its a bit repetitive as long as I find the story enjoyable and ineteresting. But hey, each to their own. I wouldn't have even written this comment but i've been hearing about this a lot lately and just wanted to let people know that there are probably more people like me that enjoyed the story.

Absolutely agree, I think this is a pretty exciting and revolutionary step forward tbh - the open world noodling was 80% of the game in FC3, and was brilliant. I think that 10 invites thing is right too.

Fingers crossed it works well on launch, and more titles might adopt this model.

It sounds like they might be underselling the game here, more so than with driveclub.

The campaign was not the best part of FC3 - the world was. It was more interesting to liberate outposts, skin animals, unlock com towers etc than half the campaign missions were.

That said, if this is the new style of demo then I'm all up for it. I'd expect a download of 40GB.
