The introduction of mods to the PS4 version of Fallout 4 has been delayed, Bethesda has confirmed. The feature had been expected to launch in beta on PS4 this week, but has been delayed for unspecified reasons.

“We regret to say that the PS4 Mods Beta for Fallout 4 has been delayed,” Bethesda tweeted earlier today. “We will update everyone when we can.”

Mods have previously launched in beta on both Xbox One and PC.

The delay follows reports stating the size limit for mods on PS4 will be set at 900mb, considerably smaller than the 2GB cap on Xbox One. There were other issues related to memory and performance, too, which, as reported by Gamerant.com, Bethesda said it was “working with Sony” to optimize.

Bethesda has yet to say when it now expects to launch mods on PS4.
