Evolution has said that DriveClub: PS Plus Edition will release “as soon as we are able to improve server performance so that it can support the many, many PS+ players”, and that it will have more news on the free edition “soon”.

The developer updated fans on the whereabouts of the PS Plus Edition on Facebook shortly after revealing the first details on DriveClub’s Redline expansion pack, the next piece of DLC coming to Europe next Wednesday, December 17.

“[DriveClub PS Plus Edition] is coming as soon as we are able to improve server performance so that it can support the many, many PS+ players,” Evolution said. “We will have news for you on this soon.”

DriveClub: PS Plus Edition had been due to release alongside the full game in early October but was delayed due to unforeseen issues with the game’s servers.

The PS Plus Edition features access to 11 tracks across the game’s India location, 10 cars and all game modes, and will be available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers free of charge.

PlayStation UK boss Fergal Gara admitted earlier this week that DriveClub’s troubled launch had “embarrassed” Sony.
