UPDATE: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is skipping a release on Xbox 360 and PS3, Activision has confirmed to VideoGamer.com, making it the first game in the series not to release on last-gen platforms.

Instead, the game will only be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

ORIGINAL STORY: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare appears to be a current-gen only release, with Infinity Ward confirming that the game won’t be coming to PS3.

Although Xbox 360 wasn’t mentioned it seems highly unlikely Activision would bypass PS3 and not the discontinued Xbox.

The writing was certainly on the wall after last year’s Black Ops 3 launched as a multiplayer-only experience on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Pre-order Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition now on PS4 or Xbox One to ensure you get the Modern Warfare remaster.
