DICE has told Battlefield 4 players how they can help the developer iron out the kinks leading to the CE-34878-0 crash on PlayStation 4.

In an update on Battlelog, the developer said that it was aware that "players on PS4 can get the 'CE-34878-0 crash' error message," but denied that it was an error specific to Battlefield 4.

"This is in fact a general error code that you can receive when the game has crashed for a number of different reasons that are not related," it said.

"You can help us to identify these individual issues by providing a few details in the crash report (we read all of them.) For example what game mode you were playing and on what map you crashed. Doing this will help us a lot to reproduce the issues and investigate fixes for them in upcoming patches."

DICE adds that it is continuing to work hard "to increase the stability of the game," and advises players that the latest updates on its progress can be found on the game's forums.

CE-34878-0 has been linked to multiple PS4 titles, including NBA 2K14, FIFA 14 and Need For Speed Rivals, but it isn't yet known what causes it.

Yesterday it was revealed that US law firm Holzer Holzer & Fistel had launched an investigation into whether EA "complied with the federal securities law" during the development of Battlefield 4.

The investigation is thought to be linked to the temporary halt of future DICE projects and Battlefield 4 DLC while issues with Battlefield 4 are fixed.

The latest patch for the PS4 version of Battlefield 4 launched earlier this week, with an Xbox One update due between now and early next week.

I called playstation on the matter since it was a system error. They told me the CE codes have been linked to internal problems. They are sending me a new system

I do think QA testing in the future is going to have to become a bigger business. Every online game and some single player experiences from the last four months have had some extreme problems. GTA Online, Arkham Origins, BF4, etc.
Ever since the generation of the downloadable patch came along, it's felt like products QA are declining. I would guess this is more the flippant care for QA testers than the testers themselves, because deadlines aren't being pushed back to keep the quality up anymore. We'll patch it on later.
Internal QA really needs to be better

Terrible, HIRE MORE QA TESTERS, THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, I AM A CONSUMER, NOT A BUG TESTER, PEOPLE PAY GOOD MONEY FOR YOUR PRODUCT AND IT IS HALF BAKED PIECE OF CRAP.
DEATH TO EA.

must be EA pressuring DICE to release games at launch... i expected it to be rushed, bf games are usually buggy as hell, they certainly aren't the best devs

Yeah sure EA/Dice, We'll QA and bug-test for you absolutely free, in fact, next year, why not do away with you're QA team all together, save a sh*t ton of cash (but still charge us full price) and just sell us your BETA release, we dont mind, we're all just bent over eagerly waiting anyway. Hey! look over there *points* im sure that EA Game could do with a few more micro-transactions :D:D!!! becuase that'll fund the development of great free DLC right ?? which'll encourage more microtransactions :) ....no? you're goanna put microtransactions in 90% of your games and still charge for DLC? Fu*k you EA, bug test you're own *****.

if i buy a DVD thats un-playabe i get my money back, if i buy a book with half the pages torn out i get my money back, if i buy a car and find it has no engine it's sure as hell going back lol..... but EA expect us, upon buying one of their products and finding it unplayable, to point out for them where they've gone wrong, keep their buggy piece of sh*t, and still happily pony-up for each and evey map-pack and half-arsed expansion they sh*t out

Seems like EA have rushed out all of their games. I've get this exact error ever time I play any FIFA UT/Career match, making the game unplayable.
