EA has halted development on all future DICE projects and Battlefield 4 expansion packs until "all the issues with Battlefield 4" have been resolved.

In a statement provided to Polygon, EA thanked fans "that are playing and supporting us with Battlefield 4.

"We know we still have a ways to go with fixing the game — it is absolutely our No. 1 priority. The team at DICE is working non-stop to update the game. Since Battlefield 4 China Rising expansion pack was already in the final stages of development by the time issues began with Battlefield 4, we decided to fulfill our promise to deliver it this week, but we're not moving onto future projects or expansions until we sort out all the issues with Battlefield 4.

"We know many of our players are frustrated, and we feel their pain. We will not stop until this is right."

Battlefield 4 launched to numerous technical issues, particularly on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, where players have reported frequent crashing. A bug that wipes single-player save progress is also thought to affect all versions of the game.

The release of Battlefield 4: China Rising introduced additional issues, too, with some players unable to access the content or join any servers.

A patch for the PS4 version had been due to release earlier this week but was delayed for "additional testing". An Xbox One title update is still expected to arrive this week.

I thought I was unable to join China Rising servers at first but realized I had to locate in server search instead of quick match. If EA wanrts to halt something how about the fee for the dlc I paid? All in all the game is great outside the fact it freezes my system occasionally. I quite enjoyed the battle log and the intense system setup it is. Only change I would of made the emblem editor a bit more user friendly, quite like that of Black Ops 2. Also not being able to see a total leader board kinda sucks. Game Makers need to stop complaining about the business of trade amongst games. The evolution of dlc made it possible for you to sell the same damn game over and over. So get over it.

I spent £45 on waiting for the reviews seeing what the game was like and I trusted IGN's review and I get a game on current gen which has on its own crashed my playstation more times than all my other games combined plus the fact that the actual game play still is not as good a console game as bad company 2. That's another thing where is bad company 3? I'm sick and tired of the practice of releasing broken games and them still being broken for weeks.
