Ubisoft has announced plans to develop a “next-generation theme park” in Malaysia featuring rides and attractions based on some of its best-loved franchises, including Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance and Rabbids.

Built in conjunction with holiday resort creators RSG, the park will be built across 10,000 square meters of land in Kuala Lumpur, and aims to be “a place where every guest is a player, every ride is a playground, [and] every visit is a game”.

“RSG is committed to redefining family fun, and video games have taken an increasingly central role in entertainment for all ages,” said RSG chairman Ramelle Ramli.

“Partnering with Ubisoft means we’ll work with their creative teams to develop the first of what we believe will be a revolutionary new theme park experience. We are confident that this partnership agreement highly benefits both parties and consolidates our presence in the global family entertainment market.”

The project is being led by Ubisoft Motion Pictures, the company behind next year’s Assassin’s Creed movie, with the park due to open in 2020.
