Boardwalk Empire star snags role in Assassin's Creed movie

Character would develop into a major role should sequels materialise.

Former Boardwalk Empire star Michael K. Williams has been cast in a supporting role in New Regency's Assassin's Creed movie.

Variety notes that Williams' role is currently vague, but sources have revealed the character has a "major stake" in the franchise. Should a sequel be greenlit Williams would progress into a co-star role.

Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard star in the first film, currently scheduled to launch in December 2016.

Williams has also secured a part in Ghostbusters by Paul Feig which stars Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy.

Boardwalk Empire star! Pfft! it's Omar fae the Wire! And he's great! The concept of an AssCreed film however....hmmm. Wonder if Omar can climb towers?
