Former Boardwalk Empire star Michael K. Williams has been cast in a supporting role in New Regency’s Assassin’s Creed movie.
Variety notes that Williams’ role is currently vague, but sources have revealed the character has a “major stake” in the franchise. Should a sequel be greenlit Williams would progress into a co-star role.
Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard star in the first film, currently scheduled to launch in December 2016.
Williams has also secured a part in Ghostbusters by Paul Feig which stars Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy.
