Creative Assembly doesn’t appear to have any plans to release the Oculus Rift version of Alien Isolation, which the developer states is only a prototype.

“What we’ve got at the moment with @oculus is a prototype,” the developer told a fan asking whether there’ll be a public demo of the game on Rift, “there’s no full game in dev”.

The news may come as a disappointment to those who had been hoping to try out the game on the VR headset, particularly given its terrifying potential.

Chris got to play around with Alien Isolation on Oculus Rift last week and came away excited – and nervous – about the intense, immersive twist it offered on Creative Assembly’s survival horror.
