What we've been playing this week.
Tom Orry, Editor - Football Manager Live, PC
It's been a while since I bored you all with my Football Manager Live exploits, so I thought I'd give you a rundown of what's been going on. The most important thing to note is that the ever improving The Noirs now sit above my bitter rivals Juicy Danglers in the Premier League. With top striker Kalinic scoring a goal every other game and my strong midfield chipping in too, it seems as if mid-table premiership survival is all but certain. The club is also finally making decent money, with my forecast showing a healthy profit over the next 28 days. Great things lie ahead for The Noirs, and if that somehow means the Danglers will struggle, that's even better.
Wesley Yin-Poole, Deputy Editor – Virtua Tennis 2009, Xbox 360
As a big Virtua Tennis fan, when Virtua Tennis 2009 popped through the VG.com HQ letterbox I jumped about like a gorilla getting fed for the first time in a week. I’m not allowed to share my thoughts on the game until next week, but playing it has brought to mind the difficulty developers must face with the annual sports game update. It has to be one of the biggest challenges in game development. Coming up with new features and better graphics to make fans feel they’re getting more than just a shinier roster update for their hard-earned cash… well, I don’t envy the job. Still, EA did it with FIFA 09. Has SEGA done it with Virtua Tennis 2009?

So things haven't exactly gone to plan this season. The seniors are languishing in 18th place in the All Evening Premiership, with only 11 points from 11 games - wastefulness in front of goal and some sloppy defending has left the season in tatters. Amazingly, despite the poor Premiership form, the danglers have progressed through to the knock-out stage of the Gold Cup (the game's equivalent of the UEFA Champions League). It's been a totally different story for the youths, though, seeing their rank reach the coveted No.1. The U21s are unbeaten in the All Evening U21s and the U18s are also riding high, currently unbeaten in the All Evening U18s. I'm hoping some of the youth form will make its way into the seniors; if you don't see a new entry from me next week, you'll know why.
Sebastian Ford, Video Producer – inFamous, PS3
Over the weekend I went up to my old University again to catch up with the team and crash their leaver’s thing. It was awesome. But while I was recovering from the hangover I was listening in on everyone chatting about inFamous, turns out they were all pretty hyped about it. As fortune would have it, I have been playing that game to death this week and I can really see what the fuss is about. Sure it starts off a little slow, but running around the city zapping people never got boring for a second. Imagine sticking Spider-Man 2, Crackdown and The Force Unleashed in a blender together; inFamous is basically what the resulting mixture would be. I’ve gone evil in my campaign, which is an unusual diversion for me. I usually feel too guilty to make my character evil but this time it just felt right. Nothing says superhero like hurling deadly lightning bolts at innocent civilians.

Also been playing Super Paper Mario again - and I can safely say I suck at the game. I'm only on 4-1 but have died numerous times. :p

They haven't changed the storyline to excessive but they just added to it. The new Legendary Pokemon on which Team Galactic want for there plans, so its basically an Expansion pack in my eyes.
Its really good and its easily up there with Diamond & Pearl. I'm really looking forward to the remakes of Gold & Silver next year.
For next week I will be ranting about inFamous for a while. So there is no promises that I will be leaving some fanboy remarks about that game as it is looking incredible.

- I finished the campaign.
- I enjoy watching the cutscenes end to end, bit like watching a 2 hour movie with the odd plot gaps.
The main reasons Resi 5 will probably still be there next week are
- I've discovered the joys of infinite ammo combined with 2x Ithaca M37 Shotguns
- I've discovered the joys of Mercenaries Mode
- I want to unlock the last two costumes and watch the cutscenes end to end again with my characters wearing them.
