Epic has toned down the game's speed for consoles and brought in some aiming aids.
It appears PC gamers will be in for a speedier Unreal Tournament 3 experience, with Epic Games' Steve Polge revealing to BeyondUnreal.com that the "game plays a bit slower on the console versions".
Polge also noted that console gamers will experience aiming help, although it is said to be very subtle and shouldn't interfere with the experience.
He also says: "UT will feature the same levels, weapons, vehicles, and game types on each platform. Having said that, the game will not feel identical on each platform, as we've tweaked the game for each platform so as not to compromise the game play on any system."
Unreal Tournament 3 is scheduled for release in November for PC and PS3, with the Xbox 360 version slated for early in 2008.
