EA Sports has announced that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, due for release in June, will support the PlayStation 3 motion controller and include The Ryder Cup for the first time. Tiger 11 will also be released on Wii, Xbox 360 and iPhone.

Gamers will be able to try and bring home The Ryder Cup for their squad, playing for Europe or the US across the numerous competition formats: Foursomes, fourballs and singles. This year, to reflect the inclusion of The Ryder Cup, Tiger will share the box art with current European favourite Rory McIlroy. The young Irish player is currently ranked 9th in the world.

"This is a huge honour for me to be the on the cover with Tiger Woods as I grew up idolising Tiger," said McIlroy. "The Ryder Cup has always been my favourite sporting event and the tournament is being played at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales in 2010. Also, I’m hopeful to have an opportunity to represent the European team later in the year – it’s all very special"

If playing as a team against the AI isn't enough, you'll also be able to go online (on Xbox 360 and PS3), taking part in full 12 vs 12 tournaments to recreate the true Ryder Cup experience.

On Wii the game will include two all-new enhanced swing mechanics: The Advanced Swing difficulty and the Tour Pro swing mechanic. The Advanced swing will read rotation and swing angle, while the Tour Pro swing assesses rotation, swing plane and point of contact, all using Wii MotionPlus.

When using the Tour Pro swing the game uses a first-person camera angle from the tee box to the putting green called True View. True View is said to create the most immersive and authentic golf experience in any video game.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is due for release on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and iPhone in June.

I have been a pga /golf fan since ps1 its just EA never really make any changes or introduce pointless 'innovations' like the putting in '10 so i have since '01 bough every 2-3 yrs but the EA dlc whore really turned up this yr & £70 of dlc is in the lbp of 'are you serious' league . Especially when some of those course packs were in '09 . Must be because 360's lack of dvd space they remove content & charge you for it grrr.

If there's a mini game that involves chasing a 4X4 with a golf club I'll definately be getting this.

I'm guessing you're into your Tiger Woods golf then mikejosh?
Tbh, I never liked the games, and I owned the absolute fail that was WiiGolf.
Hopefully Sony will be able to do motion control golf a hell of a lot better.
God knows they'll need to.

Gr8 i have always been miffed as to why you could play 6-10 yr games on Tiger & play on most of the worlds famous courses but never play golfs most prestigious event. With motion control i will be getting this for the first time since'09 on ps3 . Hopefull that the qualification system is incorporated into game & EA tone down the £70 of add-ons they got for 2010 , considering 2/3 of the course packs were in '09.
