Thief has gone gold and the game discs are now being pressed ahead of its February 28 release, developer Eidos Montreal has announced.

"It's a wrap, Thief is gold. It's nearly time for the fans to fall in love with Thief all over again, and time for newcomers to finally see what all the fuss is about" said Stephane Roy, producer.

"Thief is one of the founding-fathers of the stealth genre; we're proud to have worked on such a well-loved series and proud to say; Garrett, the Master Thief is back."

In celebration of going gold the studio has released a new Thief 101 trailer, providing fans with info on everything they need to know about the game.

Thief will be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360.

You don't need to triple post - just put all your replies in one post!

Also, Uncharted was originally seen as Tomb Raider with a bloke and now it's completely switched - Lara Croft now plays second fiddle to Nathan Drake. Just because something was good once doesn't mean it necessarily will be with its regeneration; just see Tomb Raider Underworld!

See my comment above. Thief predates Dishonored by years. Any borrowing is from the latter, not the former.

Dishonored developers admitted they borrowed from the original Thief, so it's probably fairer to say that Dishonored looks like Thief. I think this game will provide far more customization and will be more difficult than Dishonored was.

It's going to be amazing. I like this developer, a lot. They've done some very cool things. The game will be gorgeous on next gen consoles.

An impressive trailer, but as with others I'm cautious. I'll play it, but as I did with Dishonored (mistakenly!) I'll wait until it's cheap which, given its £35 next gen launch price, won't be long.

I went from being very uninterested in this game to possibly getting it soon after launch. I'll have to see how the reception is but it's looking much better than it did before.

It does seem very similar to Dishonoured but I loved that so much I'm happy with another similar title.

It has a *lot* to live up, following Dishonored. But I'm cautiously optimistic.

Early impressions seem mixed, but currently I'm in favour for just about anything to get released. Need more games on the new systems.
