Midway Newcastle put into administration

Develop reports that Midway Newcastle, developer of the surprisingly good Wheelman and new IP Necessary Force, has today been put into administration.

Midway CEO Matt Booty is reported to have broken the news to the Newcastle studio himself this morning, with an insolvency team on hand to close the studio as soon as possible.

Midway Newcastle, along with Midway San Diego, were not included in Warner's recent acquisition of Midway, leaving them seeking new funding in order to remain afloat. Midway Newcastle studio head Craig Duncan had been actively seeking a buyer, using the in-development action title Necessary Force to drum up interest.

According to Develop around 70 staff have been left without a job.

No problem giving bankers bonus pay's, when they have lost ton's of money and saved by the taxpayers.
Why can't he save real employees with real jobs, who actually work.

I live in the same area where this Midway studio is based. It's sad to see talent in the gaming industry in the UK being out of a job. I hope they make it into another one up here in the north, maybe even Rockstar North!
