The Last of Us is the UK's No.1 for a third week running, holding off the retail release of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition.

Sales of Naughty Dog's survival adventure dropped by 35 per cent week-on-week, but the reduction wasn't enough for Minecraft to pip it to the top spot, which debuts at No. 2 in the UK All-Formats Chart.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf falls a spot to No.3, as does FIFA 13 falling to No.4.

Other new entries this week include The Sims 3's latest expansion pack The Sims 3: Island Paradise, which debuts at No.5, and Deadpool entering at No.6. PC RTS Company of Heroes 2 just manages a top 10 appearance, entering at No. 10.

Deep Silver's biker brawler Ride To Hell: Retribution fails to make the Top 40 whatsoever, as does the console release of Painkiller: Hell & Retribution.

But there's still a market out there for bad games, it seems. This week's biggest climber is Aliens: Colonial Marines, re-entering the chart at No.19 following some retailer discounting.

The biggest faller, however, is MotoGP 13, falling a huge twenty-two places to No.37. Recent No.1 GRID 2 continues to fall, too, slipping another seven spots to No.17.

UKIE Games Charts, compiled by GfK Chart-Track, (All Prices) Week 26, 2013

1. The Last of Us
2. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition
3. Animal Crossing: New Leaf
4. FIFA 13
5. The Sims 3: Island Paradise
6. Deadpool
7. Tomb Raider
8. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
9. Assassin's Creed 3
10. Company of Heroes 2
11. Injustice: Gods Among Us
12. Far Cry 3
13. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
14. Need For Speed: Most Wanted
15. Luigi's Mansion 2
16. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Legendary Edition
17. GRID 2
18. Dead Island: Riptide
19. Aliens: Colonial Marines
20. Grand Theft Auto 4 Analysis

Provided Minecraft doesn't up its game for its second week, The Last of Us will likely go on to make it a fourth week at the top next Monday. With only Dark and Project X Zone hitting stores this week, there's little left on the horizon to challenge Naughty Dog's hit.

Quite honestly - I am tempted to pick up a boxed copy, for my collection if nothing else. Great box art, fantastic title, can't ask for more.

Wido very kindly gave me a code for the digital version he got for free from Raptr after he had bought it himself, so there is also a desire to show my support for the title in there as well, but...

Edit: on a side note... Ride to Hell had SO much potential... Not quite sure how that turned into what saw release last week... Cheesy grindhouse I am good with, sloppy controls and terrible mechanics, however... And the story scenes skip ahead so quickly and often, missing out any chance to develop exactly what is going on...!

I'm surprised minecraft sold so much at retail. I wonder who is buying a boxed copy.
