Naughty Dog ‘ripped off’ Ellen Page’s likeness for The Last of Us, the actress has claimed.

The Juno star, who is appearing as Jodie Holmes in this October’s Beyond: Two Souls, made the claim during a Reddit AMA, stating that her similarity to character Ellie was “not appreciated”.

“I guess I should be flattered that they ripped off my likeness,” said Page, “but I am actually acting in a video game called Beyond: Two Souls, so it was not appreciated.”

Ellie’s appearance has often been likened to Page. A GameTrailers report posted last June claims that Naughty Dog had been aware of the similarity between the two and were worried that players “might confuse Ellie for Ellen”.

The report claims that Page “didn’t even serve as the inspiration for Ellie”. However, the developer went on to make changes to Ellie nonetheless to ensure their character could “stand on their own two feet”.

The Last of Us launched earlier this month, debuting at the top of the UK All-Formats Charts.
