UK MD claims PS3 has 'never been in a stronger situation'.
Sony Computer Entertainment has a Christmas line-up "to be proud of", UK managing director Ray Maguire has claimed.
Speaking to VidoeGamer.com at the Games 3.0 conference in London earlier this week, Maguire said that "for the first time I can sit back and think, 'yeah we've got five super strong titles'.
Sony's headline Christmas 2008 titles include Insomniac's Resistance 2, Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet and Evolution's MotorStorm: Pacific Rift.
When asked how he thought the PS3's Christmas software line-up compares to the Xbox 360's, Maguire replied: "I think we've never been in a stronger situation. This is the first year for me that I can sit back and think, 'yeah we've got five super strong titles'. Some of them ground breaking by creating almost a new genre and the others starting to really use the strength of the Cell chip and the graphics. When I look at LittleBigPlanet, when I look at Resistance, when I look at MotorStorm, and then I look at things like Abba on SingStar, before we even get into Killzone next year, I think we've got a line-up really to be proud of."
Microsoft's headline Christmas Xbox 360 exclusive titles include Epic's Gears of War 2, Rare's Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Lionhead's Fable 2, iNiS' Lips and Krome Studios' Scene It? Box Office Smash.

THe 360 line up is okay. The ps3 lineup is kick ass. There is also more games that are amazing that are coming to ps3. Apart from bioshock, lbp, motorstorm and resistance, there is 3rd party games like saints row 2, far cry 2 midt club LA. Also there are musthaves like mgs4, gta4, cod 4+cod 5, unreal tournament 3 and gran torismo 5. There is also a new 160 gig ps3 model coing out.I'm getting one!!! Ps3 definitley has a way better lineup this year, even beter than wii.

I have both and am spending more cash on the 360 titles this year, GEARS, FABLE, LEFT 4 DEAD and the multiplatform games will be bought on the 360 too as the online multiplayer is stronger then the PSN. Once again my PS3 is resigned to exclusives only, well LBP at least as I dont want another Motorstorm and resistance.

i just think the ps3 needs an awesome rpg like fable II! Sure, oblivion was great, but it only allowed you to do the ordinary stuff, like, kill level an make stuff! we need an rpg that gives us more random stuff to do on the side!

Level-5 are currently working on White Knight Chronicles (aka Shirokishi Monogatari), it's expected to be out in Japan around the end of December 2008 and hopefully everywhere else by March 2009. Exclusive to PS3.
As a 360 owner and a Level-5 fan (they did Dark Cloud, Dark Chronicles, Dragon Quest VIII and Rogue Galaxy on the PS2 and the highly acclaimed Professor Leyton's Curious Village on the DS) I'm deeply envious because if Level-5 are anything close to their usual RPG standards then you're in for a real treat.

Good to see, Motorstorm 2 is ten times better than the first, Resistance 2 likewise and both getting a lot of 90%+ scores. Little Big Planet is fantastic, Bioshock has had a chance to get added content to make up for a delayed release and the PSN network has some top quality full games like Wipeout HD.
Not a bad Christmas line up. Plus all the shared titles that the 360 is getting as well.
In fact, with the 360 and the PS3 together, it'll be a wonderful Christmas.
