Online contests will allow karaoke gamers to emulate their musical idols.
In his keynote speech to an audience of about 300 faces from the gaming industry, president of Worldwide Studios for SCE, Phil Harrison, unleashed a barrage of new info on Sony's SingStar service, which allows users to download songs, participate in weekly contests and belt out a few ballads of their own.
Members can upload video content of their vocal talent (or lack-there-of) to the service and share it with friends or the general online community. They can then receive ratings and feedback based on their performance.
No firm release date was given, but SingStar for PlayStation 3 is currently scheduled for a spring release.
