Says it gets boring and mini-games are not worth playing "over and over again".
Wheelman creative director Simon Woodroffe has told VideoGamer.com that he thinks sandbox gaming elements such as bowling and dating in Grand Theft Auto IV are boring and not developed enough to warrant replaying.
"Yeah, there are elements of GTA in the game - and there are certainly elements of Burnout. I think our driving, the accessibility and the speed of it... that's more Burnout than GTA. But we've got an open world, a compelling story and a whole bunch of side missions - and those things are all GTA," Woodroffe told VideoGamer.com at a recent London press event. "We don't have a sandbox - you can't go bowling or go on a date. All that stuff is all well and good, but personally it doesn't appeal to me. It seems like a good idea but actually it's quite boring after a while, because in all of those mini-games, the micro-mechanics haven't been developed to a level where you'd want to play them over and over again."
Look out for more form Simon Woodroffe later this week.
Do you agree with Woodroffe? Are sandbox gaming elements such as the bowling and dating mini-games in GTA 4 boring and underdeveloped? Let us know in the comments section below.

Yeah he can talk can't he? Wheelman is gonna be a shitty game! Whatta twat this guy is. But GTAIV sucked in comparison to San Andreas, if it wasn't called GTA IV would have been game of the year!

Hes not really a 'twat' the dating part of gtaiv is a bit lame and hasnt really been improved much since San Andreas. It certainly isnt as fun as it could be and an area which GTA could and should improve with the next game.

I tihnk Wheelman is going to flop and Midway is going to go bankrupt. This is simply the developer trying to do pre-emptive damage control so that fans aren't disappointed when the game is not as good as GTA IV

Yeah the mini games are boring as hell and i just want to get them over so i can go back to the real game.If they had been better thought out and more interesting then i may have thought differently.
