Coming to PSN and Xbox LIVE Arcade with over 20 new songs to the Rock Band franchise.

Rock Band Blitz, the new downloadable entry in the Rock Band franchise, will be released on August 29, Harmonix has announced

The controller-based game – gone is the need for a guitar peripheral – includes over 20 new songs and works instantly with any of the 3,500+ Rock Band songs.

The ryhythm games features lanes representing each instrument on the track, which players must switch between whilst maintaining well-timed button presses.

Bringing a new element to the gameplay are arcade-style power-ups: Fire off the Bottle Rocket to explode gems in the distance, or chase down the Flame Notes for valuable bonus points. Over 10 unique power-ups will be available to utilise.

Rock Band Blitz will be priced 1200 MS Points on XBLA and $14.99 on PSN.

I loved the PSP version of Rock Band and it was a set up a lot like this so Il be getting this one for sure and some multiplayer battling would be perfect.

Wanted to toss this is I just picked up a game called Audiosurf on Steam it was 2.50 with their sale going and it reminds me a lot of this game. A bit simpler and not as pretty but still fun and you can play it to any songs on your computer. So Id say check it out if you are into the music games.
